Frozen Football Festival Delivered with Warmth

True to its festival theme, ‘A Game Day For Her – Winter Football Festival’ was delivered on probably the coldest day of the year in North-West London. Cold winds across the sports complex were embraced by participants, parents and coaches with bravery and warm spirits.

Wrapped in suitable winter attire, over 65 girls eagerly welcomed our partners Miss Kick Foundation, sharing as much warmth as they possibly could by their energy and engagement.

The schedule for the day was set out to display a mini tournament, giving the young girls an opportunity to illustrate their skills developed during the term. With teams allocated, pitches laid out and mobile goals set up (a mission in itself!) – a decision was made to limit game time to an hour given the weather conditions. Despite this, a true festival spirit was exhibited and exemplary skills (and touch!) were witnessed.  The Perform girls were thrilled to have game time with former Liverpool and Manchester City player Grace Vella.

GRACE VELLA, Founder of Miss Kick Foundation said:

“It was so amazing to see the work Perform Soccer School does to give girls within their community access and opportunity to play football. I really enjoyed meeting with the girls, talking to their parents and coaches!”

The Perform girls walked away from the session with inspirational words and encouragement delivered by the Miss Kick Foundation Team as well as some memorabilia including a Miss Kick hairband and rucksack to take home with them.

NICKY AFFLECK, Chief Executive of Miss Kick Foundation, said:

“Despite the incredibly cold weather, our Game Day for Her in partnership with Perform Academy was a great success. The day celebrated football and the local community and we are so grateful to the all the girls, coaches and families for spending the day with us. We are very excited to share the inspiring content we captured and continue to build on this exciting collaboration with the Perform Academy team!”

The event marked the start of a collaboration between our organisations and Perform Soccer School would like to thank Miss Kick Foundation for travelling all the way from Manchester to attend this event.

MOHAMMED VALJY, Co-Founder of Perform Academy, said:

We would like to thank all the parents and girls for their continuous support as we embark on our journey with the Miss Kick Foundation.
